In Spring 2004, three group members gave poster presentations in the "Colloid and Surface
Chemistry" Poster Session at the American Chemical Society Meeting in Anaheim, CA.

Katy Layman gave an oral presentation entitled "Infrared Spectroscopic Investigation of CO and Thiophene Adsorption

on Silica-Supported Nickel Phosphide Catalysts" in a Division of Inorganic Chemistry session.

Melissa Pease standing by her poster entitled "Novel Ru-Based Hydrodesulfurization Catalysts".

Autumn Burns standing by her poster entitled "Synthesis, Characterization and Evaluation of Monometallic and Bimetallic Hydrodesulfurization Catalysts".

Daniel Van Wyk standing by his poster entitled "Support Effects for Metal Phosphide Hydrodesulfurization Catalysts".

Autumn Burns was selected to receive a $250 Colloid and Surface Chemistry Division Poster Prize at the Anaheim meeting.

Autumn's  proud advisor offers congratulations!

In June 2004, three chemistry faculty and four students traveled to Richland, WA to attend "Surface Analysis 2004", the 26th Annual Symposium on Applied Surface Analysis and the 15th Annual Symposium of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the AVS Science and Technology Society.  The meeting was hosted by the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory User Facility of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
