Potential topics for the quiz questions include:

- Energy of EM radiation (calculation of energy from frequency and/or wavelength; the kinetic energy of ejected electrons in the photoelectric effect)

- calculating the Energy/wavelength/frequency of hn emitted/absorbed during an electronic transition in the hydrogen atom (Bohr model)

- using the Particle in a Box model to calculation the energy/wavelength/frequency of an electronic transition

- prediction of ground state electronic configuration for an atom or ion (Aufbau)

There will be two or three quiz questions similar to the problems given above. I recommend you prepare for quizzes by working all these problems ahead of time. See me in office hours (M 2-3pm, T 9-10am and W 10-11am and 2-3pm) if you have questions.
